This initiative originates in 2005. It was the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War!
This event caused such a powerful response in the hearts of people of completely different ages and social groups, that it turned into an annual tradition!
The goal of the “St. George ribbon” initiative was not just the creation of a unique event symbol, but also a reminder to the knowledgeable people, as well as informing the younger generations about the incredible price that our victory has taken. It is a Memorial Day.
From year to year the initiative turned into an incredibly large-scale event. This event takes place in many countries of the world. In these six years, Russians and citizens of other countries bought more than 50 million of St. George ribbons! They are very popular in many near and far-abroad countries.

Technical characteristics of St. George ribbon in width 35 and 24 mm
Woven ribbon 35mm in width and 500mm in length with longitudinal orange and black stripes in the following sequence: 1 mm – orange, 6.6 mm – black, 6.6 mm – orange, 6.6 mm – black, 6.6 mm – orange, 6.6 mm – black, 1 mm – orange. The permissible deviation of the strip width is 0.2 mm.
Woven ribbon 24mm in width and 500mm in length with longitudinal orange and black stripes in the following sequence: 1 mm – orange, 4.5 mm – black, 4.5 mm – orange, 4.5 mm – black, 4.5 mm – orange, 4.5 mm – black, 1 mm – orange. The permissible deviation of the strip width is 0.2 mm.
Requirements for quality and security of services
1.1 Stability of ribbon coloring to weather conditions corresponds to GOST 9733.2-91 (ISO 105-B03:1994).
1.2. Stability of ribbon coloring to light exposure corresponds to GOST 9733.2-91 (ISO 105-B03:1994) not less than 4 points on a 5-point scale.
1.3. The ribbon edges are thermally treated to prevent material from dissolving and fringe formation at the ends of the product.
